Hirelings in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction come with their own set of attributes: Strength, Dexterity, Health, Damage, Defense, and Experience. As Hirelings kill monsters, they gain experience points. When they gain enough experience points to reach a new level, their attributes automatically improve.
- Runewords are a way in Diablo II to use a combination of runes in an item to give it exceptional attributes, beyond what the runes themselves accomplish.There are 78 runewords in total.
- Dec 18, 2017 Diablo 2 mercenaries, also known as hirelings, provide aid to players throughout gameplay. They follow the player around within a specific radius and help in fighting and killing monsters. Mercenaries are also vulnerable to getting attacked and killed. In the Classic version of Diablo 2, mercenaries could not go beyond the act they were hired in.

Diablo 2 Early Runewords
The following changes have been made to mercenaries in Path of Diablo. Teamextreme minecraft launcher 1.12.
Unless otherwise noted, Mercenary auras max out at level 18.
Mercenaries hired from Normal difficulty have better stats than those hired from Nightmare or Hell. Basic topology armstrong pdf.
By Act
Pbp to iso converter for mac. Act 1 Rogue
- Now attacks with Fire Arrow (has been reworked).
- Now has Inner Sight (has been reworked).
- Can now equip crossbows. (bugged in current patch)
Act 2 Desert
- All 3 difficulties (Normal/Nightmare/Hell) now use the same auras:
- Offensive uses Blessed Aim
- Defensive uses Defiance
- Combat uses Prayer
Act 3 Iron Wolf
- Now attacks with Vengeance (their own version with reduced multipliers), no longer casts spells
- Now have Defensive Auras:
- Offensive uses Meditation
- Defensive uses Cleansing
- Combat uses Thorns (Vanilla version)
- Has an additional 15% chance of ignoring direct damage (does not apply to enemy AoE spells).
- Still cannot block despite use of shields (cannot be fixed)
Act 5 Barbarian Mercenaries
- Now attacks with Bash exclusively (has been reworked).
- Now uses Might aura.

Act I Hirelings: Rogue Scouts The Hirelings of Act I are available from Kashya in the Rogue Encampment. As Rogues, they specialize in the use of Bows and can be useful for ranged support. If the Rogue Hireling has any special abilities (Fire or Cold arrows), they will be listed in the recruitment window. Skills: Cold Arrow/Inner Sight or Fire Arrow/Inner Sight Allowed Equipment: Armor, Helms, Bows (no Crossbows) Notes: Rogues aren't Amazons so they can't use Amazon Only Items. Act II Hirelings: Desert Mercenaries The Hirelings of Act II are available from Greiz in Lut Gholein. They specialize in Melee Attacks. If Hirelings have any special abilities, they will be listed in the recruitment window. Skills: Jab, plus one of the following auras: Combat (Normal): Prayer Allowed Equipment: Armor, Helms, Spears, Polearms, Javelins (but won't throw) Notes: These guys are the most party friendly Hirelings because they share their Auras with all of the party, including Minions. The Aura the Hireling uses depends on the Difficulty level you were at and which type of Hireling you hired. You cannot control which of the available Auras the Hireling uses but normally they stick with one. |
Act III Hirelings: Ironwolves The Hirelings of Act III are available from Asheara in Kurast. They specialize in Lightning, Fire, and Cold spell attacks. The Hirelings special abilities will be listed in the recruitment window. Skills: Charged Bolt/Lightning or Glacial Spike/Ice Blast/Frozen Armor or Inferno/ Fireball Allowed Equipment: Armor, Helms, Shields and Swords Notes Intel atom n450 overclock tool. : Ironwolves rarely swing their sword so find them a good 'caster' sword. |
Act V Hirelings: Barbarians The Hirelings of Act V are available from Qual-Kehk in Harrogath once you have finished his quest. Skills: Bash and Stun Allowed Equipment: Armor, Helms, Barbarian Class-specific Helms, One Sword (can't dual wield) Notes: Find the highest damage possible sword for your Barbarian Hireling. |
Diablo 2 Mercenary Armor Runeword
Hirelings are Mercenaries that you can hire to fight by your side. Hirelings are very loyal and fight to the death. Hirelings are very useful. Every player should have one! The Hireling follows you and automatically attacks any monsters or hostile players nearby. You can also see them on your Automap as an aqua colored 'X'. You can only have one Hireling at a time. Each party member can have their own Hireling however bringing the total to 8 Mercenaries in a full game or party.
