The Beretta 3032 Tomcat and Beretta 3032 Tomcat Inox are semi-automatic pocket pistols designed and manufactured by Beretta. They are chambered in .32 ACP (a.k.a. 7.65 mm Browning) and are small pistols, designed for concealed-carry and use as backup weapons. The Beretta 3032 Tomcat builds on a long line of small and compact pocket pistols for self defense manufactured by Beretta.[2] The allure and popularity is commonly attributed to the loading procedure, which does not require the user to 'rack' the slide to chamber a round, but rather place a round in the tip-up barrel before the magazine is inserted. This is especially popular for those with weaker or smaller hands.
A deactivated Tomcat was used by actor Pierce Brosnan in the James Bond film Die Another Day.[3]

Jun 15, 2020 So I ended up finding a new Beretta 3032 Tomcat INOX.32auto for $360 brand new. It's a made in TN gun this year. It will be replacing my Jframe 442 Pro. Love the Jframe but I cannot shoot it for shit no matter how much I try. I love the convenience of carrying it in a pocket (especially in scrubs). Dec 07, 2017 Beretta Tomcat Cracks Well, it's about 3 years since the last post on this topic. It seems that Beretta is still having same problems with Tomcat 3032. I just sent mine in for a crack in the same place. On the frame just above the trigger. I also had a chip of metal come of the slide rail on frame. Jul 20, 2017 The Silvertip was my carry ammo. The Tomcat is my only semi-auto pistol to never have a malfunction of any kind. I especially like the tip-up barrel feature. It is true that some Tomcats have had cracks develop in the frame. Mine never has developed a crack. My Tomcat is a safe queen nowadays as I am retired and the SIG P938 is my EDC.
The Beretta 3032 Tomcat is a simple blowback pistol with a single- and double-action trigger mechanism.[4] It also features a tip-up barrel.[4] It is fitted with a frame-mounted thumb safety. This safety acts as a slide stop when engaged. The frame is made of aluminiumalloy while the slide and barrel are carbon steel in the standard version and stainless steel in the 'Inox' variant.
A document included with all Model 3032 Tomcat pistols warns that the owner should never use ammunition that exceeds 130 ft⋅lbf (176 J) of muzzle energy. Notably, even normal factory .32 ACP cartridges have become significantly more powerful in recent decades, and can well exceed the 130 ft-lb limit of the pistol's initial design, one that Beretta continues to use to this day. Representatives of Beretta USA have often recommended that owners purchase their .32 ACP ammunition online, so that the muzzle energy is properly verified in specification charts. Use of any ammunition that exceeds this rating may cause irreparable or prohibitively expensive damage to the firearm, most commonly manifesting as a crack on the frame. However, contrary to common belief, this is not considered a defect in factory materials, but a problem caused by ammunition and the consumer's neglect of the factory parameters. [5]

The significant increase in the power of .32 ACP ammunition is often attributed to consumers demanding more and more powerful sub-caliber cartridges. This, in turn, results in ammunition that is believed to produce greater 'stopping power' against assailants.

Notably, the design omits an extractor mechanism, thus, the firearm relies solely on the blowback energy of the cartridge to extract and eject spent casings.
Beretta recommends caution when removing grip panels, as the safety mechanism is retained underneath with spring tension. Parts can be lost during improper removal, making the firearm inoperable until repaired. The barrel should also not be completely removed from the assembly, which may cause frame damage.

Variants[edit]

The model 3032 Tomcat is available in an 'Inox' variant, with stainless steel barrel and slide and the frame anodized for a similar aesthetic.[6] For a short time, a titanium-framed model was also available.[4] Previously, Beretta offered a variant of the Tomcat possessing tritium night sights referred to as the 'Alley Cat,' which was discontinued in the late 2000s.[6]

Manufacturer: Beretta
Model: 3032 Tomcat
Caliber: .32 ACP
Value: $325
Today, I present to you the Beretta 3032 Tomcat chambered in .32 ACP. Beretta manufactured this gun from 1996 and discontinued the model in 2013.
The Tomcat is a very unique pistol. It is a magazine-fed, semi-automatic gun. Tilting the barrel upward chambers the first round. By tilting the barrel upward, it exposes the chamber and the first round can be loaded without cycling the slide.
The gun was designed for people with weak hands that don't have the hand strength to manipulate a semi-automatic slide. It provides the comfortable recoil of a semi-automatic, with the simplicity of revolver-style loading.
The Tomcat is a double/single action hammer-fired gun. Also, it has a manual safety. The big issue with this particular caliber is finding ammunition. The .32 ACP has been a challenge to locate recently.

I’d rate this gun at 90 percent on the grading scale. The matte finish is starting to show scratches. Blue Book of Gun Values appraises a 90 percent Tomcat at $175. This particular model has the Crimson Trace laser grips installed, adding an additional $150 to the value of the gun. Total worth is $325. Since this gun was recently discontinued, it is hard to tell what the market for this particular gun will be in years to come.

Maybe the “The Walking Dead” will feature the gun in an upcoming season. The values would skyrocket.
